NWRL Irregular Hours Work – Bella Vista

 Thiess John Holland Dragados (TJHD) has been contracted to build the tunnels and civil works for five of the eight new stations and two service facilities, including at Bella Vista Station.

TJHD is continuing to establish both the station and precast facility site at Bella Vista for the construction of the new station and twin rail tunnels. Work that will occur throughout

December 2013 and January 2014 including some night works is as follows.

 

Works in December and January will include:

 

Continuing to install and relocate electricity, water, sewer and communications services in and around the site area. Areas outside the site include Old Windsor Road, Celebration Drive, Lexington Drive, Maley Grove, Balmoral Road and Memorial Drive.

 Ongoing earthworks, compacting gravel and laying concrete slabs to prepare the area to install sheds and facilities. These hardstand areas are designed to minimise dust during later construction activities

 

 Removing topsoil from site between Balmoral Road and the former Totally Home centre

 

 Ongoing demolition of some buildings within the former home centre

 

 Continuing car park works for McDonald’s and BP Access for customers will be maintained during this work

 

 Continuing to install fencing and noise walls around the site

 

 Work to realign the access road off Celebration Drive to McDonald’s and BP including a dedicated site access from Celebration Drive

 

 Constructing foundations for the acoustic shed as part of the precast facility and the Bella Vista station box

 

 

Commence excavation of the Bella Vista station box

 Erecting the Precast Facility acoustic shed

 

 

 

 

 

What to expect at Bella Vista site:

 

Deliveries of large plant and equipment, sometimes out of hours if required by road authorities

 Truck movements in and out of the work sites

 

 Heavy machinery including excavators working around the site undertaking earthworks

 

 Construction noise within prescribed limits

 

 Pedestrian and cycle detours

 

 Temporary road closures and detours as required

 

Work will generally occur between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any work that is required outside these hours, including night works. Work outside these hours may be required for safety reasons, to meet the requirements of authorities or to minimise traffic impacts.
