Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott said bus commuters and motorists will soon benefit from a specially built triple bus bay on Old Northern Road at Baulkham Hills which aims to reduce congestion and improve safety.
“The NSW Government has provided $1 million to build the 85 metre bus bay with capacity for three long buses on Old Northern Road near the intersection of Ackling Street as part of the bus priority program,” Mr Elliott said.
“Work starts on Sunday 9 February and will be carried out from 8pm to 5am on weeknights from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and between 7am and 1pm on Saturdays until mid July, weather permitting.
“Motorists are advised a section of road where work is being carried out will be closed to traffic, to ensure safety.
“Work will include excavation, replacing concrete and installing new kerb, gutters and footpaths.
“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise during the work,” Mr Elliott said.
Two night shifts of maintenance will be carried to resurface Old Northern Road near Hill Street at Baulkham Hills on weeknights from Tuesday 11 February between 8pm and 5am to reduce future maintenance costs.
