Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott is encouraging Hills organisations to apply for grants under the ClubGRANTS program to help build new community facilities and infrastructure.
Mr Elliott said the ClubGRANTS Category 3 program will provide grants of between $500,000 and $2 million to community organisations for new and upgraded infrastructure, with $12 million to be allocated Statewide in the 2013-14 financial year.
“The establishment of the Category 3 program was a commitment the Liberals and Nationals made, in partnership with ClubsNSW, to the people of NSW before the 2011 election.” Mr Elliott said.
“Expressions of interest for 2013/14 Category 3 grants open on Friday (7 March 2014) with applications to close on Thursday 10 April 2014 and successful projects announced mid year.
“In this upcoming funding round, Category 3 funds will be focused on providing grants to develop or enhance infrastructure facilities for sport and recreation in local communities.
“In following years, health and community-related projects will also be eligible for Category 3 grants. Those who are eligible to apply for grants include local government, non-profit organisations, charities and non-trading cooperatives.”
The NSW Government has appointed a ClubGRANTS Category 3 Fund Committee to assess grant applications and recommend projects for approval by the Government.
The committee is chaired by Mr Mike Colreavy, who is a Trustee of the Government’s Responsible Gambling Fund and an experienced local government executive. It includes representatives from NSW Education & Communities (Aboriginal Affairs and Sport & Recreation), the Community Relations Commission, Council of Social Service NSW, Family & Community Services, Local Government NSW, NSW Ministry of Health, the Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing, and a representative of ClubsNSW.
