Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott has welcomed the 2014 Road Safety Issues Around Schools guide to be delivered to Baulkham Hills schools in the coming weeks.
This is a new road safety guide created for school communities as part of a package of resources to improve school zone safety in NSW.
Minister for Roads and Freight Duncan Gay has written to principals to release the guide.
“The 2014 Road Safety Issues Around Schools guide being delivered to our local schools by the state Government reminds parents about how to ensure their children get safely to and from school,” Mr Elliott said.
“This is a great addition to the ground breaking SafetyTown program currently available to parents and schools.
“I encourage parents to join the road safety discussion by visiting the SafetyTown website with their children on SafetyTown.com.au, reinforcing the lessons being taught in the classroom,” Mr Elliott said.
Since its launch in April, the SafetyTown website has already reached 26,000 hits.
“I commend the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government for their commitment to the safety of our children, by delivering many measures to improve school zone safety including road safety infrastructure, education and enforcement.
