Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott has expressed his relief at news a proposed
NorthConnex southern compound will have its travel route redrawn.
In writing to residents affected by the proposal, Mr Elliott said the previous proposal,
which had trucks travelling on suburban roads during peak periods, was unreasonable.
“I have been in discussions with the Minister for Roads, The Hon Duncan Gay MLC, and the Minister has agreed to instruct the Roads and Maritime Service to negotiate a different route to the one originally proposed,” Mr Elliott said.
“While the new route has not yet been finalised, I am encouraged by the preparedness of both the Roads and Maritime Service and the NorthConnex project team to listen to community concerns.”
Mr Elliott said he will ensure residents are advised when a new plan becomes available.
