Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott today announced local recipients of grants
for sporting and recreational participation worth more than $22,000 under the NSW Sport and Recreation Participation and Facility Program.
Mr Elliott said the grants would ease the cost on people in the Baulkham Hills community engaging in sporting and recreational pursuits.
“In an age dominated by technology and indoor pursuits, it is vitally important to encourage our communities to get outside and active,” Mr Elliott said.
“These grants will ensure the community has access to a wide variety of recreational activities, giving people more opportunities to remain fit, active and healthy.”
Grants recipients include NSW Powerchair Football Association for the promotion of Powerchair Football in the Sydney Metropolitan Area, Scouts Australia NSW Branch for training volunteer leaders for youth outdoor adventure, Men in Action for the provision of training courses, first aid courses, equipment and uniforms for the “Bring a Mate Peloton”, and Carlingford Netball Club, to improve player skills, develop of coaches and upgrade uniforms.
