Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott and Seven Hills Liberal Candidate Mark Taylor have today announced $21,000 for a new awning, shelter and footpath through the NSW Government/National Rugby League (NRL) Footy Facilities Fund.
“The Footy Facilities Fund is a joint initiative between the NRL and the NSW Government that will help fund grassroots footy clubs across the state,” Mr Elliott said.
“The main objectives of the Footy Facilities Fund are to increase participation opportunities in Rugby League and improve the standard of grounds and facilities.
“We need our facilities to provide the best possible outcomes for our community, so we also place great importance on environmental sustainability and social inclusion.”
“We congratulate the Winston Hills Tigers on their successful application and look forward to seeing the benefits of this upgrade for the community.
“Sport of all descriptions plays a major role in the Hills community, and we are thrilled to see a strong investment in our sporting facilities from both the NSW Government and the National Rugby League.”
Mr Taylor said grassroots facilities were crucial to the success of Rugby League.
“Every parent wants their children to play footy at safe, secure and high quality venues,” Mr Taylor said.
“This program improves facilities at local footy clubs and provides the services needed to enable more youngsters, particularly those with disabilities, to be part of the game.
“This approach is crucial because there is a place in rugby league for everyone.”
