Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott has welcomed the efforts of Hills Police, led by Superintendent Rob Critchlow, in fighting a recent Ice epidemic.
Mr Elliott said the efforts by Hills Police demonstrated the need to remain vigilant against drug dealers at all times.
“The addictiveness and potency of Ice ranks it alongside heroin as a drug which destroys families and people’s lives,” Mr Elliott said.
“Only by remaining alert as a community can we flush out those who seek to grow wealthy off the misery of others.
“With the arrest rate more than doubling in 2014, it is clear the problem if Ice is increasing.
“However, the increase in arrests also demonstrates the tireless efforts of our Police in pursuing these criminals, and I cannot commend The Hills LAC highly enough on their efforts.
“I am pleased the National Ice Strategy is also being pushed by the Federal Member, Alex Hawke, and I would urge all Hills residents to remain aware of the possibility of Ice dealers being present in our neighbourhoods.
“The earlier we catch dealers the more lives we can save.”
