Minister for Early Childhood Education Leslie Williams and the Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott today visited The Hills Community Kindergarten to meet with staff and students.
Mrs Williams said the service demonstrated best practice having achieved a rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard, a significant achievement.
“The NSW Government is providing further funding to support community preschools in 2016,” Mrs Williams said.
The NSW Government has boosted funding to community preschools by over $83 million from 2016 to ensure that every child in the year before school have the opportunity to access quality and affordable preschool education.
“The Hills Community Kindergarten has received a 2.5 per cent increase in its base funding rate for 2016. This increase has seen the preschool receive over $5,500 in additional funding.”
Mr Elliott said the Hills Community Kindergarten provides an important service to parents in the Baulkham Hills area.
“It is services like these that provide quality early childhood education that give our children the best start,” Mr Elliott said.
“In addition The Hills Community Kindergarten may be eligible for a further bonus payment of up to 15 per cent of their funding if they enrol additional four and five-year-old children for 15 hours per week.”
