Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott is urging the Baulkham Hills community to nominate worthy community activists for the 2017 Tom Harvey Citizenship Award.
“The Tom Harvey Citizenship Award, administered by the Commonwealth Day Council of NSW, recognises the outstanding contribution of young Australians who have assisted in the development of other young people and their families by providing better opportunities through literacy, education or employment programmes,” Mr Elliott said.
“Previous award winners have helped the community by building operating theatres, built learning centres, undertaken environmental rehabilitation programmes and established mentoring programmes in indigenous communities.”
Nominees must be Australian citizens aged between 15 and 30 and demonstrate their achievements reflecting the aims of the Australia Youth Trust.
The Award will be presented at the annual Commonwealth Day lunch, to be held at NSW Parliament House on 13 March 2017.
Nominations close on Friday, 25 November.
