Elliott Thanks SES Volunteers

Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott has expressed his gratitude towards the NSW SES for their efforts in assisting Hills residents during the last weekend’s storms.

Mr Elliott said SES resources were stretched to their limit with over 700 Requests for Assistance.

“Our SES volunteers were inundated with requests for assistance with the worst affected suburbs being Kellyville, Rouse Hill and Beaumont Hills,” Mr Elliott said.

“Locally, our resources were so stretched that we even had the assistance of 20 teams from Fire and Rescue NSW and 21 teams from the Rural Fire Service offering their time and skills in helping those affected.”

Mr Elliott said that, while clean-up efforts were ongoing, extra SES teams would be coming to offer their time.

“The SES has advised that teams from Illawarra, Queanbeyan and Southern Sydney will also be on call during the week,” Mr Elliott said.

“In addition to this, Suncorp Insurance is also providing an assessment centre in Bella Vista to assist local residents in making a claim, with the site located at the corner of Celebration and Lexington Drives.

“On behalf of the Baulkham Hills community, my thanks go to the local SES and all those volunteers from outside our local area, as well as those people from the Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW for their dedication in helping our community clean up the damage caused by these freak storms.”
