Leadership Meeting A Success

Member for Baulkham Hills, David Elliott, hosted the first annual Baulkham Hills youth leaders reception at Parliament House last Wednesday.

 The event was open to captains, vice captains and prefects of all public and private schools in the Baulkham Hills electorate.

 In excess of 30 students from Baulkham Hills attended the reception and took the opportunity to meet and mingle with today’s leaders in preparation for future community leadership roles.

 Mr Elliott spoke about his personal experience in leadership roles in business, politics and the military and how leadership is not learnt from a book, but rather experience.

 “Leadership requires courage, intelligence, generosity and compassion,” Mr Elliott said.

 “I was thrilled with the manner in which serving and future leaders of our community interacted, which shows how this event will only serve to benefit our community in the future.”

 Other attendees at the event included:

-Local Area Commanders Philip Flogel of Castle Hill and Robert Redfern of Parramatta;

-Castle Hill RSL Sub-branch President Colonel Don Tait;
