NSW Government Launches 2012/13 Sports Grants Programme

Member for Baulkham Hills, David Elliott, and Member for Castle Hill, Dominic Perrottet, have called for applications for the NSW 2012/13 Sports Grants Programme.

“I am pleased to announce the review of the Sport and Recreation grant programmes has been completed and the overall funding pool has been maintained for 2012-13,” Mr Elliott said.

“The Government has made a number of changes to the programs primarily to assist local organisations in their planning of projects.

“The new Sport and Recreation Participation and Facility Program will be open twice per year to ensure applicants receive a quicker turnaround.” Mr Elliott said

Mr Perrottet said the new guidelines will allow local members to provide comment on applications relevant to their electorates, however, the final decision will be made by the independent assessment panel based on the NSW Government ‘Good Practise Guide to Grants Administration.

“While I suggest applicants make the most of this opportunity, a second round of grants will be available in January 2013 if the timing better suits preparations,” Mr Perrottet said.

“I am delighted the Government has made funding available just as our Shire is seeing a peak in demand for more sporting facilities and spaces.” Mr Perrottet said.

Round One of the Sport and Recreation Participation and Facility Program is now open and will close on 3 September 2012.
