Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott has welcomed the news that the Parramatta Eels have agreed to extend their lease at Parramatta Stadium for a further five years.
Mr Elliott said the eels represented the wider Parramatta region and that Hills residents could continue to watch their team close to home.
“While increases in crowds mean that moving matches to Homebush becomes an attractive option, Parramatta’s commitment to staying at their spiritual home will allow more Hills residents the opportunity to see their heroes play,” Mr Elliott said.
“I am looking forward to a big season for the Eels with a new coach and some high quality firepower on the field.”
Parramatta will begin their 2013 NRL campaign at home to the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday, 9 March.
