Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott today announced Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is inviting community feedback on plans for a city bound bus bay on Old Northern Road at Baulkham Hills.
“RMS proposes to install a city bound bus bay on Old Northern Road between Cross Street and Ackling Street at Baulkham Hills,” Mr Elliott said.
“The proposal is part of the NSW Government’s efforts to improve bus reliability along strategic bus corridors linking major centres across the Sydney metropolitan area.
“The proposed bus bay aims to improve bus travel and safety by providing space for citybound buses to collect passengers in the morning peak period and reduce the traffic waiting behind buses.”
RMS work could start in the first half of 2013 and would involve demolishing the existing kerb and footpath, moving utilities such as water, street lighting, electricity, telecommunications and building the new bus bay, kerb and gutter and footpath.
Feedback is welcome by Friday 21 December to RMS Senior Project Development Manager David Payne to email@example.com or by calling (02) 8849 2268.
