The Minister responsible for Veterans’ Affairs Victor Dominello and the Member for Baulkham Hills David Elliott have condemned the vandalism attack on the Cenotaph that occurred in Martin place on Saturday morning.
“This is an act of desecration that will anger the veterans’ community, and the community at large, particularly so close to Australia Day,” Mr Dominello said.
“Veterans and their families will be outraged by this attack on one of the state’s sacred shrines dedicated to those who fought and died for their country.”
Mr Elliott called on the community to inform the police if they knew who the prepetrators were.
“I join with police in urging members of the community who know anything about this act of desecration to come forward with information,” Mr Elliott said.
