Member for Baulkham Hills, David Elliott today visited residents of Huxley Drive, Winston Hills, in a bid to return safe driving to their quiet street.
Mr Elliott said the recent history of crashes along a bend adjacent to Dodson Crescent required urgent action from Parramatta City Council.
“I have been in discussions with Councillor Bob Dwyer for some time over this section of road,” Mr Elliott said.
“Residents have been living in fear that an irresponsible driver can easily lose control on the narrow bend and cause enormous damage and injury to property and pedestrians.
“Just today, while meeting with residents, I saw a vehicle which had been written off by the RMS due to an accident not more than a few weeks ago.”
Mr Elliott said there was frustration amongst residents due to a lack of action from Council staff.
“Residents can rest assured that Councillor Dwyer and myself will push this issue with the Traffic Services Manager and the Local Traffic Committee at Parramatta Council until we achieve chicanes and other measures which will slow motorists down.”
