Roads and Maritime Services has started to build a bus bay on Old Northern Road southbound near the intersection of Ackling Street, Baulkham Hills.
This NSW Government has fully funded this $1 million project to building an 85 metre bus bay, which will have capacity to park three long buses. The construction of the bus bay will improve safety by reducing congestion and the risk of crashes.
This essential work includes excavation, new pavement, concrete works, new kerb and gutters, stormwater and new footpaths to improve road safety, traffic efficiency and ensure the road serves the community into the future.
Most of the work will be carried out at night, but there will be some construction during the day and on Saturdays. The project will take up to 20 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am and on some weekdays (from Monday to Friday) between 7am and 6pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 1pm. The section of the road will be partially closed during these times, to ensure road worker and road user safety. Please expect minor delays as reduced speed limits will apply during this time.
There will be some noise associated with this work but every effort will be made to minimise the impact on residents.
Roads and Maritime apologises for any inconvenience this night work may cause and appreciates the patience of residents and motorists.
Up-to-date information about the work, including any date changes will be displayed on electronic message signs along the road.
