Posters Banned On Power Poles

Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott today announced that posters are now banned from power poles in New South Wales.

Mr Elliott said that NSW law prohibits any unauthorised material to be attached to electricity infrastructure, as this can pose a significant safety risk.

“Networks NSW has recently written to relevant bodies, including political parties, trade unions, and local government, reminding them of the illegality of placing posters on power
poles, while also outlining that any materials found will be removed and the cost invoiced to the organisation responsible,” Mr Elliott said.

“Following an increase in political material on electricity network infrastructure, Networks NSW has established three online portals for members of the public to report posters attached to power poles.”

Hills and Parramatta residents are advised to contact Endeavour Energy by visiting should they find any posters attached
to power poles.
