Minister Assisting the Premier on Western Sydney Stuart Ayres has congratulated the winners from Western Sydney at the Premier’s NSW Export Awards.
The University of Western Sydney took out the national award for Education and Training.
“This goes to show that UWS is now a national leader when it comes to exporting Australian educational expertise to the world,” Mr Ayres said.
“UWS is a region-defining institution and this award is just another reason why Western Sydney residents should be proud of their own world class university.”
RODE Microphones, based in Silverwater, won the national award for Manufacturing and the NSW award for Exporter of the Year.
Dark Purple, an exporter of world wines based in Castle Hill, was awarded the NSW winner for the category of Western Sydney Exporter.
“This demonstrates, yet again, that Western Sydney is the place of innovative and successful businesses,” Mr Ayres said.
The Awards acknowledge the important contribution exporters make to the NSW economy through job creation and increased prosperity for their community and for the State.
The annual awards recognise and reward top exporting talent – both goods and services – in NSW.
