Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott has congratulated local police with the latest Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOSCAR) data showing major crime categories continue to trend down in the region.
Mr Elliott the data reflects the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government’s commitment to cracking down on crime.
“In Baulkham Hills, there are some impressive downward trends in crime including:
- Domestic violence is down 10.6 percent
- Malicious damage to property is down 14.7 percent
“It is wonderful to see crime decrease in our local community.
“This follows on from the last quarter, when domestic violence was down 10.1 percent and malicious damage was down 12.1 percent.
“This demonstrates a clear strategy and approach from local police in targeting areas of concern.
“While domestic violence and malicious damage are down, we must remain vigilant against the threat of fraud in an increasingly digital world, and against break and enters, especially as we approach the warmer months and the temptation to leave doors and windows open increases.
“I congratulate our police, led by Superintendent Rob Critchlow, for their good work to crack down on crime across the electorate.”
