Sustainability leaders in the Baulkham Hills are encouraged to nominate for the 19th Green Globe Awards, celebrating leadership, commitment and innovation in sustainability across NSW, Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott announced today.
Mr Elliott said these leading environmental awards honour people and projects making real progress toward sustainability across all sectors in NSW.
“The Green Globe Awards showcase a range of business, local organisations and individuals who are setting the standard for environmental action in our community,” Mr Elliott said.
“I encourage everyone to get involved and nominate the environmental initiatives in our community that inspire you.
“You can nominate yourself or others working on sustainability in any sector from fashion to food, built environment to biodiversity,” Mr Elliott said.
Minister for the Environment Gabrielle Upton said the awards encouraged a diverse range of entries for 10 categories.
“The categories recognise NSW’s sustainability champions in a wide range of categories from business and community leadership, resource efficiency, Young Sustainability Champion and the ‘Best of the Best’ Premier’s Award for Environmental Excellence,” Ms Upton said.
Luke Menzel, Lead Chair of the Green Globe Awards judging panel, said that judges are impressed every year by applications that raise the bar on sustainability outcomes for NSW.
“Individuals, communities and businesses across the state are leading by example, thinking outside the square and innovating their way to a more sustainable future for NSW. The energy and enthusiasm we see in Green Globe Award candidates is always inspiring, and we’re looking forward to another great showing in 2018,” Mr Menzel said.
The Awards will be judged by a panel of independent experts and presented at a gala awards night on 4 October 2018.
Nominations are now open until 5pm on 8 June 2018. To enter your project, organisation or nominate as an individual, go to environment.nsw.gov.au/greenglobes.
