Motorists will enjoy a smoother trip on Windsor Road once new clearways between Showground Road, Castle Hill and Seven Hills Road at Baulkham Hills are operational from Monday 10 September.
Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott said the new clearways would operate in both directions from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and from 9am to 6pm on weekends and public holidays.
“The clearways are part of the NSW Government’s $121 million Clearways Program, which aims to reduce congestion and delays on Sydney’s roads,” Mr Elliott said.
“Introducing new clearways on this section of Windsor Road will improve journey reliability, getting motorists where they need to be sooner.
“This key corridor provides direct access to Norwest Business Park, the Castle Hill Trading Zone, The Hills Private Hospital, as well as the Baulkham Hills shops.
“This section of Windsor Road connects people travelling towards Windsor in the north or the M2 Motorway and Parramatta in the south.”
Castle Hill State Liberal MP Ray Williams said a single parked car can significantly reduce road capacity and cause major delays on busy road corridors during peak times so it is important to ensure all lanes are available to improve journey reliability for motorists.
“Existing parking restrictions will continue to apply outside of the clearway hours and parking will remain in the existing road shoulder, between Rembrandt Drive and Coronation Road,” Mr Williams said.
“Clearways on Windsor Road between Showground Road, Castle Hill and Seven Hills Road, Baulkham Hills will help traffic flow on weekdays and weekends.”
Mr Williams said work to install the new clearway signs will be carried out between Sunday 26 August and Sunday 9 September from 8pm to 5am, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
