Summer Holiday Blitz For Baulkham Hills

Public schools in Baulkham Hills will remain hives of activity over the summer holidays, as the tradespeople arrive to spruce up school grounds while students and teachers are on leave.

More than $220,600 will be spent on school projects in Baulkham Hills, which are running over the summer holiday period.

Projects at local schools include $142,166 for concreting at Baulkham Hills North Public School, $17,500 for painting at Excelsior Public School, $51,030 for integration of access to AG Plot at Muirfield High School and $10,000 for the integration of vision indicators at North Rocks Public School.

Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott welcomed the investment in local schools in the electorate.

“Every child deserves to have access to great facilities, wonderful teachers and get an excellent education and that is what we are delivering for students here in Baulkham Hills,” Mr Elliott said.

Education Minister Rob Stokes said this program is another example of how this Government is committed to public education and delivering local infrastructure to support communities right across NSW.

“Just like your family home, there are always jobs to be done to keep our schools in top condition,” Mr Stokes said.

“We carry out projects in our schools every day of the year, but we really ramp it up over summer to get schools in their best condition to start the new school year.

“Every single job, no matter how big or small, matters. Keeping our educational facilities in tip-top condition promotes a sense of pride in our schools and this improves teaching and learning.”

The summer holiday blitz is part of the NSW Government’s record $847 million school maintenance investment over the next four years.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over the next four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW along with a record $500 million to provide air conditioning in schools. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
