Online Mentoring Campaign To Empower Baulkham Hills Women

Women are being encouraged to share their unique insights through a new NSW Government campaign, with Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott calling on Baulkham Hills’ women to share their achievements and experiences to empower others.

The NSW Inspirational Women Online Showcase will feature a range of women sharing videos online about their achievements and advice for other women and girls, and calls on the public to express interest in the project by submitting a video.

“I would encourage the women of Baulkham Hills who feel they can offer encouragement or inspiration to other women to share their stories and participate in the online mentoring campaign,” Mr Elliott said.

“Women from our community come from all walks of life and have valuable insights that can empower young women and girls to develop confidence and reach their full potential.”

The campaign is a direct action from the new NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022, a whole-of-government response to improve the economic, social and physical wellbeing of women and girls across NSW.

Minister for Women Tanya Davies said enabling women to build confidence and resilience to pursue careers and opportunities in traditionally male-dominated fields is one of the aims of the new NSW Government online mentoring campaign.

“Giving women access to information, support and networks is vital to ensure they see a broad range of career opportunities available to them and can also help make re-entry into the workforce after having a family less overwhelming,” Mrs. Davies said.

“These videos will inspire and encourage all women, young and old, to follow paths they may have otherwise overlooked, by seeing how others are navigating their way and overcoming challenges unique to women.”

Videos can be filmed on a smart phone or tablet and will be reviewed to ensure they highlight a diverse range of insights, stories and accomplishments; they will be available on the Women NSW website and social media channels.

Women aged 18-years or over are encouraged to submit their videos by January 31. For more information and content guidelines go to www.women.nsw.gov.au/inspirationalwomen.
