COVID Testing To Double: Anyone With Symptoms In Baulkham Hills Can Now Be Tested

Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott is urging anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested after the NSW Government announced it was doubling its tests to about 8,000 a day.

Mr Elliott said anyone with COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, tiredness (fatigue), sore throat and shortness of breath should immediately get tested.

“Already, NSW has among the highest testing rates in the world and now we are boosting this further with today’s announcement by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to double capacity from around 4,000 tests per day to 8,000,” Mr Elliott said.

“Testing is crucial in reducing community transmission of COVID-19 and managing local clusters. Increased testing is an important step toward looking at lifting restrictions.

“From today onwards, anyone in Baulkham Hills with symptoms of COVID-19, including mild symptoms, should come forward and get tested. Testing is available seven days a week.”

Health Minister Brad Hazzard said NSW will also work to support higher volumes of testing over the weekend as well as during the week, through both the public and private health systems.

“The more people that get tested the quicker we can identify cases, track their contacts and prevent community outbreaks.”
