Green Light For School Projects In Baulkham Hills

A building blitz across NSW will take place in public schools thanks to the new $120 million Metro Renewal Program announced by the NSW Government.

The Metro Renewal Program will accelerate the delivery of community funded school infrastructure projects to deliver modern facilities to students and communities.

Baulkham Hills State Liberal MP David Elliott said the NSW Government is continuing its record investment in school infrastructure and ensuring our students access modern facilities.

“This program will deliver a much-needed boost, not just to school infrastructure and the local economy but also to the morale of school communities,” Mr Elliott said.

The Program will provide a Government co-contribution of between 50 to 80 per cent for metro school capital improvement projects including covered outdoor learning areas, science facilities, toilet blocks, administration building and canteens.

“This funding is hugely valuable to everyone in Baulkham Hills as this will benefit schools and see jobs and funding flow into our community as we aim to use local contractors and suppliers for these projects,” Mr Elliott said.

Eligible schools will be contacted by the Department of Education to learn more about the Program.

The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over four years to deliver more than 190 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
