A crane travelling on the Hills M2 motorway at around 12:10pm on Monday 15 October struck signage located on the Pennant Hills Road overbridge of the Hills M2 Motorway.
The motorway beneath Pennant Hills Road Bridge was closed as a precaution following the incident and to assist with the removal of the sign, with traffic diverted onto Pennant Hills Road.
Traffic is was diverted via the Pennant Hills Road off-ramp and re-entered the motorway on the westbound Pennant Hills Road on-ramp.
Motorists who detoured via the Pennant Hills Road off-ramp will not be charged a second toll at the Pennant Hills Road on-ramp.
“Motorists identified as using both the Main Toll Plaza and the Pennant Hills Road toll plaza during the times of the incident will not be charged the Pennant Hills Road toll,” an M2 spokesman said.
“We will ensure motorists are charged only one toll for their journey. There is no need for motorists to follow up. This will be processed automatically.
