NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, is encouraging families to beat the winter blues by taking advantage of holiday packages being offered by Sport and Recreation Centres across NSW for the July school holidays.
“Bookings are now open for the children and family camps at Sport and Recreation Centres which offer plenty of fun and healthy school holiday activities that won’t break the bank,” Mr Annesley said.
“With the July School Holidays just around the corner it’s important for parents to plan ahead to ensure their children remain active in the cooler months, not just in summer.
“The camps offer a very diverse range of activities like rock climbing, building camp fires and rope courses – all under the supervision of friendly and qualified staff.
“Each camp has a different theme and there’s sure to be something that appeals to every child – whether they enjoy snow sports, adventure activities or cooking.
“Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the camps is the opportunity to make new friends in a positive environment which can ultimately help children to grow into confident individuals,” Mr Annesley said.
Sport and Recreation Centres offer day-time and overnight school holiday programs in beautiful Australian bush locations for children aged 7 to 16.
Winter Kids’ camps run from Saturday 29 June – Friday 12 July 2013.
The school holiday packages include all activities, accommodation, nutritious meals and 24-hour supervision.
Supervised transport is also available to and from most camps.
“For families looking to make the most of the holidays there are also camps for the entire family, including weekend snow packages in Jindabyne and Christmas in July at Berry on the South Coast,” Mr Annesley added.
