Baulkham Hills MP David Elliott and Minister for the Environment, Robyn Parker today announced The Hills Shire Council would receive $3,500 to help maintain flood mitigation works.
“The Hills Shire Council will use the funds for maintenance of flood structures,” Mr Elliott said.
Ms Parker said the grant was one of nine ongoing grants for maintenance of flood mitigation works – totalling $357,000.
“The NSW Government allocates these grants annually for nine councils under an arrangement to assist them to maintain older flood mitigation schemes,” Ms Parker said.
“The funds come from the Floodplain Management Program administered by the Office of Environment and Heritage. Eligible Councils match the funding.”
